At least 30 people have been killed after an explosion in the Turkish capital, with unconfirmed reports the blast was caused by a suicide bomber
This is the shocking moment a suspected terrorist blast went off in the Turkish capital as peace protesters danced.

At least 30 people have been killed and 126 injured after an explosion in Ankara this morning, with unconfirmed reports the blast was caused by a suicide bomber.

In the footage above you can see dozens of people waving flags and singing before they're rocked by a huge blast behind them.
Pictures from the scene show blood on the streets and peace flags in tatters, with reports of two explosions in the centre of the city.

Turkish government officials say the blast was a terrorist attack, and are investigating claims a suicide bomber was responsible.
The blast occurred ahead of a planned "peace" march to protest against the conflict between the state and Kurdish militants in southeast Turkey.

Dogan news agency video footage showed those involved in the march tending to wounded individuals lying on the ground while hundreds of people wandered around the streets.

The cause of the blast was not immediately clear but a government official told Reuters it was being investigated.
Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu is to hold a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Yalcin Akdogan, government officials and security chiefs at noon local time in response to the attack, Davutoglu's office said.

The explosion occurred at a time of growing security concerns in Turkey, and three weeks ahead of a parliamentary election.
