The Audi crosslane coupé makes its debut at the Paris Motor Show

Audi provides a glimpse of the future shape of design, along with automotive and drive concepts, through its Audi crosslane coupé concept car. This vehicle is an entirely new fusion of technology, engineering and design, and provides pointers to the design language of Audi’s future Q models.

With a Multimaterial Space Frame, the vehicle concept strikes out along entirely new paths with regard to weight, costs and energy usage over its lifecycle, and is an evolutionary stage of Audi ultra – the lightweight construction principle from Audi.

PARIS (18 September, 2012) Great design delivered through innovation – Nissan is showcasing its bold approach in spectacular style at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. TeRRA concept car – Paris Motor Show

Taking centre stage and making its global debut at Paris is the rugged TeRRA concept car. The dramatically-designed four-seater takes the philosophy of Zero Emissions mobility and extends it into an exciting new domain. Powered by hydrogen fuel-cell, TeRRA offers four-wheel-drive capability and proves that Zero Emissions vehicles aren’t just for the urban environment. Nissan is already the market leader in the zero emissions field, with the all-electric Leaf continuing to lead the way thanks to its innovative design and engineering.

Through the use of in wheel motor technology, TeRRA is free of the packaging constraints that affect conventional SUVs. With no central transmission tunnel, the seating gives all four passengers a broad and unique view out of the vehicle. In addition, TeRRA introduces bold new surfacing materials and removable, portable technology for the driver display and infotainment systems.

Juke NISMO

An exciting new era in Nissan performance motoring starts at the Paris Motor Show with the official launch of the NISMO road car programme. Designed and developed by Nissan’s NISMO division in Japan, the range of affordable yet highly advanced performance cars is spearheaded by the new Juke NISMO.

Powered by a modified version of the acclaimed 1.6-litre direct injection turbocharged petrol engine that drives the DIG-T model, the Juke NISMO features a bespoke aerodynamics package and a revised chassis design to deliver an even more engaging driving experience.

Juke with Ministry of Sound

Celebrating its ongoing partnership with the London-based clubbing and electronic dance music authority Ministry of Sound, the Juke with Ministry of Sound is a limited edition model that features a number of premium design enhancements and special features.

Available with any engine and transmission in the current range, the Juke with Ministry of Sound is finished in either Metallic Black or Solid White, and comes with a bespoke design package and a Ministry of Sound Music Pack that comprises an Apple iPod touch* complete with Scratch Shield case, Ministry of Sound headphones and a VIP voucher for the Ministry of Sound music store.

The Peugeot 208 TYPE R5 to go unveiled at the Paris Motor Show

After the 208 R2, Peugeot Sport is opening a new chapter in the sports variants of the 208, and not least with the 208 Type R5. A true ‘competition wildcat’, it will replace the 207 Super 2000, benchmark of the S2000 category as much for its technical performance as for its sporting and commercial performance.

World premiere in Paris

Announced at the end of 2011, the 208 Type R5 will be unveiled in Paris at the Motor Show on 27th September and on show until the 14th October. Its contours and its technical assets continue Peugeot’s rallying tradition. ‘Body built’ for asphalt (tarmac) and loose-surfaces (gravel), the 208 Type R5 will compete in its first rallies and go on sale in the 2nd half of 2013 in order to be able to conquer the national and international championships the following season.

In the footsteps of success

As a pioneer, the 207 Super 2000 won everything and has without doubt had the greatest record in the category. It has accumulated six Intercontinental Rally Challenge titles, many crowns in various national championships and numerous victories worldwide including San Remo, the Tour de Corse and the Monte Carlo. One hundred and seven of these vehicles have been sold to date, run by private customers, importers or on behalf of Peugeot Subsidiaries: South Africa, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, France, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic and the UK.

Drivers such as Thierry Neuville and Kris Meeke were ‘discovered’ and defined their skills at its wheel. So the 208 Type R5 will have to demonstrate that it is a worthy successor to the 207 Super 2000.

The 208 Type R5 benefits from all the expertise and experience of Peugeot Sport, acquired and recognised over many years. Under the direction of Alexis Avril, technical manager of Peugeot Sport, Bertrand Vallat, formerly responsible for the 207 S2000, is the project leader for the 208 Type R5.

SUZUKI S-CROSS: C-SEGMENT CROSSOVER CONCEPT CAR TO DEBUT AT 2012 PARIS MOTOR SHOW

The S-Cross, a concept car heralding a C-segment crossover model from Suzuki will be making its world debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show from 27 September to 14 October*.

Suzuki’s crossover concept S-Cross embodies an “Emotion x Quality x Aerodynamics” design theme, which is typified by distinctive dynamic lines that start on the front bumper, sweep across the doors, and continue to the rear of the body. Design elements which suggest stability and solidity also help create a cutting-edge crossover look.

MITSUBISHI MOTORS AT 2012 PARIS MOTORSHOW – NEW OUTLANDER PLUG-IN HYBRID EV WORLD PREMIERE

CIRENCESTER, UK – At the forthcoming 2012 Paris Motor Show^[1] (“Mondial de l’Automobile”), Mitsubishi Motors will continue to roll out its ambitious, global and green new product generation with a series of significant premieres. Highlight of this offensive will be the world introduction of the all-new Outlander Plug-in Hybrid EV.

New Frontier Neither a mere adaptation of an existing Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) – powered vehicle, nor a dedicated Plug-in Hybrid technology showcase, the New Outlander Plug-in Hybrid EV (or “PHEV”) will share its architecture with the soon-to-be-introduced New Outlander’s ICE versions – an engineering feat in itself.

As such, it will be the first mainstream car from a major manufacturer envisaged from the outset with built-in provisions for either ICE or PHEV power trains.

Plug-in Hybrid EV Adding to its credentials, the New Outlander PHEV will further distinguish itself:

• Mitsubishi Motors’ first Plug-in Hybrid car, it will be an EV-based vehicle, relying on MMC’s extensive EV and electronic know-how, supplemented by a petrol engine when needed – a solution more suited to global markets than Diesel.
• Making the best use of Mitsubishi’s renowned 4-Wheel-Drive expertise, it will also be the first permanent 4WD electric car in series production.

Long haul The New Outlander PHEV unique drive train combination of front electric motor + rear electric motor + front traction/generator petrol engine will translate into a choice of three driving modes:

• Pure (Twin Motor 4WD EV)
• Series (Twin Motor 4WD – EV supported by generator)
• Parallel (ICE engine supported by Twin Motor 4WD).

When fitted to the New Outlander, the Mitsubishi Plug-in Hybrid system will allow for a long haul range and very low emissions similar to that of the Concept PX-MiEV II show car, i.e. a driving distance of over 800 km and a CO₂ target below 50 g/km.

Further… Whilst the New Outlander ICE will start its commercial career in Western & Eastern Europe in the fall of 2012, the Outlander Plug-in Hybrid EV will be retailed in Europe during the course of 2013.

Complementing this New Outlander family, Mitsubishi Motors will stage further premieres at the Paris Motor Show, aimed at a European audience and to be detailed at a later stage…

Arab leaders have been urged to intevene in Syria to stop the killing. The call came from the Emir of Qatar, as he addressed the UN General Assembly in New York. 
It followed an earlier statement from US President Barack Obama that Bashar al Assad's regime must be brought down.

Bitter fighting and senseless death dominate the streets of Qusayr. As the UN meets to discuss the hopeless situation in Syria this shocking report displays the vicious reality at the coalface of the deadlock.

"Here is where the soldiers of Assad used to be," Abu Arab, a Free Syria Army commander says as he stands on a deserted street that is now just a pile of rubble. Only a few months ago Qusayr, just outside of Homs, was a busy town with 50,000 inhabitants. Now it looks deserted. As an important gateway for weapons, it has been relentlessly shelled by the army. The FSA has captured many tanks in the area, but many more remain, meaning that there is no end in sight to the bloodshed. The local hospital has no facilities and is full of wounded civilians. "We can't do anything in this hospital," the doctor says with dismay. A man whose back is peppered with shrapnel lives for only a few minutes after being brought in and so does an eight-year-old girl struck by a mortar explosion. The fighting is so close to the hospital that we see the windows blown in from bomb blasts and bullets can be heard whizzing by the windows. And as the civilian deaths mount up the desire for revenge intensifies, entrenching an already bitter conflict. "May God send somebody to shoot the man who shot you," one victim's relatives pray.

NEW YORK - Designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy delivered a one of a kind show during New York Fashion Week in which inspiration was originally drawn from medieval garb, fantasy role playing and the glamorous biker chic. The Rodarte Spring/Summer 2013 collection was meant for the audience to buzz about, especially with pieces like two-skinned turtleneck sweaters, metal motorcycle jackets, ocean blue silk gowns, choppy layers, breastplates made from folded brocades and last but not least, those hairdos! Models were portrayed as the modern medieval woman, some may call it "Dungeons and Dragons", sporting neutral eyes, light blush and pin straight hair with an extreme comb over to one side. Throughout the evening, models looked as if they were armored in strong and structured jacquard dresses and edgy leather pants all in dark palettes likes navy blue, red and black.

Το πιο σημαντικό, το MYC απείλησε να διεξαγάγει επιθέσεις σε ολόκληρη την περιοχή (η ομάδα σημειώνει εξαρχής ότι δεν έχει υποκαταστήματα σε "Σομαλία, την Τανζανία και την Κένυα."

"MYC στην Κένυα και μουτζαχεντίν αδελφούς μας στην περιοχή ετοιμάζονται για τυχόν ενδεχόμενα που μπορεί να διαφαίνεται στο Κισμάγιο, και με τη χάρη του Αλλάχ ανταποκριθούν αναλόγως και αποφασιστικά", ανέφερε η δήλωση.

Κατά ειρωνικό τρόπο, η MYC είπε ότι "ο χρόνος της δημόσιας προειδοποιήσεις μέσω twitter ή άλλων μέσων κοινωνικής δικτύωσης είναι τώρα ένα πράγμα του παρελθόντος", ακόμη και δεδομένου ότι έκανε την ανακοίνωση σε ένα blog και το Twitter.

Η MYC ήταν πιθανόν εμπλέκονται στη αα αποτυχημένη επίθεση αυτοκτονίας που ήταν ματαιωμένη στις 14 Σεπτεμβρίου. Οι δύο βομβιστές αυτοκτονίας που συνελήφθησαν στο Ναϊρόμπι διατάχθηκαν να διεξάγουν επίθεση από τους Jafra Χουσεΐν, ένας ηγέτης Σαμπάαμπ από Κισμάγιο.Abdimajid Γιασίν και Αλί Χουσεΐν, οι Σομαλοί βομβιστές αυτοκτονίας, συναντήθηκε με Shukri Musa, ένας αξιωματικός της εφοδιαστικής Σαμπάαμπ στην Κένυα, και Ahmed Abdurahman.

Σε αυτή την κρίσιμη συγκυρία, MYC υπό την ηγεσία του σεΐχη Ahmad Amir Ali Iman απορρίπτει οποιαδήποτε προσφορά από τους άπιστους και τους συμμάχους τους αποστάτες στη Σομαλία. Μια τέτοια προσφορά από KDF δεν αντικατοπτρίζει μόνο την αλαζονεία αλλά και απόλυτη άγνοια του γιατί πολλοί νέοι Κενυάτες υπό την χαρισματική ηγεσία του σεΐχη Ahmad Ali Iman (Μάιος Αλλάχ διατήρηση της μουτζαχεντίν) αποφάσισε να ξεκινήσει ίχρας στη Σομαλία για την υποστήριξη μουτζαχεντίν αδελφούς μας στην Αλ- Σαμπάαμπ. Αν ως KDF έχει αναφέρει, προτίθενται να προχωρήσουν σε Κισμάγιο, με στόχο τη δολοφονία και τον βιασμό τους μουσουλμάνους, τους υπενθυμίζουμε για λογαριασμό της Αλ-Σαμπάαμπ ότι ποτέ δεν είναι αργά για να υποχωρήσουν στην Κένυα και ασχολούνται με τα εσωτερικά προβλήματα της Κένυας, που είναι αύξηση σπειροειδώς εκτός ελέγχου.

Ωστόσο, αν και KDF AMISOM να επιμείνει στην απελευθέρωση του στρατού εναντίον αθώων μουσουλμάνων γυναικών και των παιδιών στο Κισμάγιο, ως μέρος θρησκευτική λειτουργία καθαρισμού του, MYC θα αναλάβει την ευθύνη της υπάκουα: πρώτα ως μουσουλμάνοι και το δεύτερο ως μέρος της δέσμευσής μας για την πίστη του Amir Sheikh Abu Zubeyr μέσω της δημόσιας δήλωσης Amir Ali Ahmad Iman νωρίτερα αυτό το έτος. Σε αυτό το πλαίσιο, MYC στην Κένυα και μουτζαχεντίν αδελφούς μας στην περιοχή ετοιμάζονται για τυχόν ενδεχόμενα που μπορεί να διαφαίνεται στο Κισμάγιο, και με τη χάρη του Αλλάχ ανταποκριθούν αναλόγως και αποφασιστικά. Η ώρα της δημόσιας προειδοποιήσεις μέσω twitter ή άλλων μέσων κοινωνικής δικτύωσης είναι τώρα ένα πράγμα του παρελθόντος. Ο κύβος φαίνεται να έχουν ρίξει από KDF και της AMISOM, και τώρα οι άπιστοι θα πρέπει να είναι υπόλογοι για τις πράξεις τους που προορίζονται.

Καθώς φαίνεται ότι μπαίνουμε πλέον στη φάση ενίσχυση μας ως μέρος της Αλ-Σαμπάαμπ, MYC θυμίζει την μουτζαχεντίν της Κένυας και της μουτζαχεντίν σε ολόκληρη την περιοχή ότι ο άπιστος συνέχισε να ελέγξετε την τιμή μας ως μουσουλμάνοι, και εναπόκειται πλέον να myc και ήθελε -minded μουτζαχεντίν ομάδες να διεκδικήσει εκ νέου ότι η τιμή ως προϋπόθεση για να υψώνουν τη σημαία της Tawheed ψηλά πάνω από την Κένυα και την Ανατολική Αφρική.

Ζητάμε επίσης από τους μουσουλμάνους να θυμόμαστε τους αδελφούς και τις αδελφές μας από Majengo (Ναϊρόμπι), Thika, Nyeri και Μομπάσα και Τανζανών μουτζαχεντίν μας που προετοιμάζονται σήμερα με μεγάλο ενθουσιασμό να συμμετέχουν οι άπιστοι στο Κισμάγιο θα πρέπει να πληρούν την απειλή τους κατά αθώων μουσουλμάνων στο Κισμάγιο . Ζητάμε ότι ο Αλλάχ κάνει τους νικητές και τους εξασφαλίζει την υψηλότερη θέση στο Jannah.

[dt.] Sithonia (Σιθωνία) ist der 2. Finger der Halbinsel Chalkidiki (Χαλκιδική) in Griechenland. Die traumhaften Strände an der Ostküste sind hauptsächlich Campingtouristen vorbehalten. 
An der Südwestspitze liegt Griechenlands größter Naturhafen -- Pórto Koufó. Die ruhigen Gewässer boten seit jeher Fischern Zuflucht vor der rauen See. Im 2. Weltkrieg diente der Hafen als Stützpunkt für die U-Boot Flotte der Deutschen im östlichen Mittelmeer. 
Nur wenige Kilometer weiter erreichen wir die Bucht von Toróni. Vorgelagert auf einer kleinen Halbinsel sind noch die Reste einer byzantinischen Burg erhalten. 
Die Westküste wird dominiert von den Touristenorten Neós Marmarás und Porto Carras.

Greece's biggest nature port - Pórto Koufó - is located at the southwest tip. In the calm waters the fishermen could always find shelter from the rough seas. In the 2nd World War II, the port served as a base for the German submarine force in the eastern Mediterranean.
Just a few miles away we reach the Bay of Toroni. Off the coast, on a small peninsula, the remains of a Byzantine castle are preserved.
The west coast is dominated by the tourist sites Neos Marmaras and Porto Carras.

How Large is the Universe?

The universe has long captivated us with its immense scales of distance and time. How far does it stretch? Where does it end, and what lies beyond its star fields and streams of galaxies extending as far as telescopes can see?

These questions are beginning to yield to a series of extraordinary new lines of investigation and technologies that are letting us to peer into the most distant realms of the cosmos. But also at the behavior of matter and energy on the smallest of scales. Remarkably, our growing understanding of this kingdom of the ultra-tiny, inside the nuclei of atoms, permits us to glimpse the largest vistas of space and time. In ancient times, most observers saw the stars as a sphere surrounding the earth, often the home of deities. The Greeks were the first to see celestial events as phenomena, subject to human investigation rather than the fickle whims of the Gods. 

One sky-watcher, for example, suggested that meteors are made of materials found on Earth... and might have even come from the Earth. Those early astronomers built the foundations of modern science. But they would be shocked to see the discoveries made by their counterparts today. The stars and planets that once harbored the gods are now seen as infinitesimal parts of a vast scaffolding of matter and energy extending far out into space. 

Just how far began to emerge in the 1920s. Working at the huge new 100-inch Hooker Telescope on California's Mt. Wilson, astronomer Edwin Hubble, along with his assistant named Milt Humason, analyzed the light of fuzzy patches of sky... known then as nebulae. 

They showed that these were actually distant galaxies far beyond our own. Hubble and Humason discovered that most of them are moving away from us. The farther out they looked, the faster they were receding. This fact, now known as Hubble's law, suggests that there must have been a time when the matter in all these galaxies was together in one place. 

That time, when our universe sprung forth, has come to be called the Big Bang. How large the cosmos has gotten since then depends on how long its been growing and its expansion rate. Recent precision measurements gathered by the Hubble space telescope and other instruments have brought a consensus... 

That the universe dates back 13.7 billion years. Its radius, then, is the distance a beam of light would have traveled in that time ... 13.7 billion light years. That works out to about 1.3 quadrillion kilometers. In fact, it's even bigger.... Much bigger. How it got so large, so fast, was until recently a deep mystery.

That the universe could expand had been predicted back in 1917 by Albert Einstein, except that Einstein himself didn't believe it until he saw Hubble and Humason's evidence. Einstein's general theory of relativity suggested that galaxies could be moving apart because space itself is expanding. 

So when a photon gets blasted out from a distant star, it moves through a cosmic landscape that is getting larger and larger, increasing the distance it must travel to reach us. In 1995, the orbiting telescope named for Edwin Hubble began to take the measure of the universe... by looking for the most distant galaxies it could see.

Taking the expansion of the universe into account, the space telescope found galaxies that are now almost 46 billion light years away from us in each direction... and almost 92 billion light years from each other. And that would be the whole universe... according to a straightforward model of the big bang. But remarkably, that might be a mere speck within the universe as a whole, according to a dramatic new theory that describes the origins of the cosmos.
