Iraqi Defense Ministry announced that security forces backed by popular mobilization have killed about 96 ISIL terrorists in Tikrit and Baiji in Salahuddin province.
Forces operating in Malha area in Baiji, foiled an attempt by terrorists, the clashes left 60 militants dead.
Meanwhile The security forces are trying to get rid of some ISIL pockets in the Qadissiya district north of Tikrit, where a joint force carried out operations, which resulted in the killing of more than 20 terrorists. They were trying to vandalize and burn houses after stealing properties inside the houses.
Security forces in Qadisiyah neighborhood, managed to kill 16 terrorists, they were wearing explosive belts but Iraqi forces dismantled 99 explosive devices and destroyed heavy machine guns belonging to the ISIL.
The military units are preparing to clean the area around Baiji and Shirqat from ISIL militants, and pave for the return of displaced families and restore the public services inside the liberated areas.
