Thirty-two people have been injured in an eight-car commuter train derailment at Chicago O'Hare International Airport. The train was pulling into the station, and the cause of the accident is not yet known.
Chicago Fire Commissioner Jose Santiago says the train "climbed over the last stop, jumped up on the sidewalk and then went up the stairs and escalator," as quoted by AP.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is underway, with the apparent cause being that the train was traveling too fast.
"Apparently (it) was traveling at a rate of speed that clearly was higher than a normal train would be,"Chicago Transit Authority spokesman Brian Steele said at a morning briefing, but added, "it's far too soon to speculate."
