Repair works on Rio de Janeiro's landmark Christ the Redeemer statue are set to begin after lightning strikes recently damaged the monument. The iconic figure is believed to have had its right thumb chipped when a powerful electric storm swept through the area last week. The statue's head and its right middle finger are believed to have been damaged by a lightning storm last month. Report by Katie Lamborn.
