NEW YORK - Fashion is taking a clean and pure turn with desert colors popping out and spiritual pieces being embraced by the audience. That was certainly the vibe at Chadwick Bell Spring/Summer 2013 during New York Fashion Week. The collection included natural colors such as ivory, nude, chalk white, forest green and camel. Designer Chadwick Bell's inspiration came from Southwestern culture and he combined jersey dresses and skirts with leather belts and sexy geometric shaped wedges. Models opened the show in strong tulle and leather details along with classic 1950s shapes like swing jackets, khaki blazers, loose fitting pants and silk conservative blouses. Sex appeal was not forgotten, as Bell showed off plenty of exposed necklines, cut out backs and reinforced hems. Heavy U-shaped necklaces added more of a bohemian style to the Americana collection. Bell's girl may be simple, but she's on the right route.
