Wolfsburg / Shanghai, 19 April 2013 - At the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show, Volkswagen is giving the public a spectacular glimpse of the future - and of a new SUV design era - in presenting the world premiere of the CrossBlue Coupé. Klaus Bischoff, Head of Design for the Volkswagen Brand: "The disproportionately high growth in the SUV segment gives us designers the opportunity to implement an even stronger diversification of models. In the CrossBlue Coupé we are showing the potential of our Volkswagen design DNA. This concept vehicle will undoubtedly have an influence on future SUV models." The Head of Design continues: "The CrossBlue Coupé lives by a harmonious triad: rugged in appearance, sporty in proportions and showing a reserved elegance in its sculptural shapes and lines." Oliver Stefani, lead designer for the project on Klaus Bischoff's design team: "A highlight is the front-end design of the CrossBlue Coupé. The established theme of horizontal lines as a brand signature is perfected by complete integration of the headlights. Distinctive chrome accents in the lower area emphasise the SUV character of the CrossBlue Coupé and are intuitively perceived as corresponding to the upper grille."

Dynamic sports car performance. The CrossBlue Coupé is powered by a plug-in hybrid system that is as fuel efficient as it is sporty. A V6 turbo direct petrol injection engine (TSI) works together with two electric motors here; maximum system power is as much as 305 kW / 415 PS. When the car's full power potential is utilised, the SUV becomes a sports car: The Volkswagen accelerates to 100 km/h in a mere 5.9 seconds, and its maximum speed is 236 km/h.

Fuel efficiency of a compact. Despite its impressive dynamic performance, the CrossBlue Coupé has a combined fuel consumption of just 3.0 l/100 km (in the new European driving cycle or NEDC). Even in hybrid mode fuel consumption (sub-cycle with discharged battery powered by just the TSI drive), the SUV - which is nearly 4.9 metres in length - consumes just 6.9 l/100 km of fuel. This value enables a theoretical range of around 1,190 kilometres (with a fuel tank capacity of 80 litres) before the car needs to be refuelled.

Zero emissions in the city. The CrossBlue Coupé can be driven in all-electric mode, i.e. without any emissions at all, over a distance of up to 33 kilometres (at a maximum speed of 120 km/h). To intentionally use this especially eco-friendly mode in urban areas, the driver can push a button to select the all-electric drive mode. As a production vehicle, the concept vehicle - which is based on the new modular transverse matrix (MQB) - could also be fitted with conventional drive systems (four and six-cylinder engines) configured for a wide variety of fuels (petrol, diesel, CNG).

Comfort of a premium class SUV. This Volkswagen, equipped with five comfortable seats and a boot that can hold up to 1,101 litres of luggage, depending on the configuration, belongs to the SUV avant-garde, both technically and visually. The CrossBlue Coupé is also one of the safest SUVs worldwide thanks to the electronic stabilisation programme, an all-wheel drive with "propshaft by wire" that is engineered for dynamic performance and safety and up to ten airbags.

New Honda NSX: Time to raid the piggy-bank as the order book opens in the UK

Honda UK has announced that the order book for the new 2015 Honda NSX is now open with a £5,000 deposit securing the early delivery of the new NSX.

It may have taken Honda forever to get round to building a new NSX, but they’ve received so much interest in the new Supercar that Honda UK has decided to open up orders – two years before the new NSX arrives in 2015.

The new NSX got its first outing at the Detroit Auto Show in 2012 and is being developed by Honda in the US with the aim of producing a ‘green’ supercar with advanced environmental performance without sacrificing on-road performance. The 2015 NSX will not only be designed in the US, but built there too

The new NSX gets a mid-mounted direct-injection V6 which drives power through Honda’s Sport hybrid SH-AWD system with 2 electric motors that can apply positive or negative torque to the front wheels during cornering which, say Honda, will deliver handling unmatched by other all-wheel-drive systems.

Phil Crossman, Honda’s UK MD, said:

We are really pleased with the interest we’ve already seen for the new NSX. We are still two years away from the launch of the car and yet we’ve received over 20 deposits and that’s before we’ve even announced prices or seen the final production car. With this process in place we are confident demand will remain strong and early hand raisers can now visit any Honda dealership in the UK and place a deposit.

So, if you fancy a ‘Green’ supercar, and you can fish down the back of your sofa to come up with the required £5k deposit, you can now pop along to your local UK Honda dealers and get to the front of the queue.

Los residentes de la ciudad estadounidense de West, en Texas, donde se produjo una explosión en una planta de fertilizantes, comparan el incidente con un terremoto o una prueba atómica. "Fue como una bomba nuclear", aseguró el alcalde, Tommy Muska.

"Toda la tierra tembló", "fue como estar en un tornado", cuenta la profesora local Debby Marak.

El Servicio Geológico de Estados Unidos registró la explosión como sismo de magnitud 2,1.

La causa de las explosiones aún se desconoce. En la localidad viven 2800 personas.

Chrystal Anthony, un residente cercano a la planta, dijo que vio cómo las llamas envolvían un hogar de ancianos y varias viviendas. "Un complejo de apartamentos fue devastado, también el hogar de ancianos. El fuego se desató cerca de una zona residencial", dijo Anthony.

"Fue como una bomba que explotó", dijo Barry Murry, un residente que vive a una milla de la planta.

Los vecinos aseguran que vieron "una enorme bola de fuego de casi 100 metros de altura".

Muska, quien también es bombero voluntario, añade que una de las explosiones le arrancó el casco y eliminó las puertas y ventanas de su casa.

La explosión de la planta de fertilizantes de West se produjo alrededor de las 8 pm (hora local), y posteriormente hubo más explosiones alrededor de las 10 pm, informó la cadena local WFAA. Según el alcalde, los bomberos consiguieron controlar el incendio una hora después, pero instaron a los residentes a permanecer en sus hogares debido a la amenaza de nuevas explosiones o fugas de amoníaco, debido al mal estado de las instalaciones a consecuencia del siniestro.

ΣΟΚ ΝΤΟΚΟΥΜΕΝΤΟ - Αυτός έιναι ένας από τους δράστες που σκόρπισε το θάνατο στη Βοστώνη; - Τι απαντά το FBI;

Τρομοκρατική ενέργεια βλέπουν πίσω από τα χτυπήματα στο μαραθώνιο της Βοστόνης η Ομοσπονδιακή Αστυνομία, το FBI και η NSA (υπηρεσία Εθνικής Ασφαλείας), ενώ ορισμένοι συνδέουν από τα πρώτα ευρήματα της επίθεσης την οργάνωση Αλ Κάιντα.

Ο Γκόρντον Κορέρα ειδικός σε θέματα τρομοκρατίας για το BBC, δήλωσε πως το modus operandi των δραστών θυμίζει τις επιθέσεις της Αλ Κάιντα. Την άποψή του ενισχύει και το γεγονός πως οι γιατροί στα νοσοκομεία της Βοστόνης όπου έχουν μεταφερθεί οι δεκάδες τραυματίες, βγάζουν από τα θύματα σιδερένιες βολίδες και θραύσματα, γεγονός που υποδεικνύει πως οι δράστες είχαν φτιάξει «βόμβες διασποράς» για να προκαλέσουν όσο το δυνατόν περισσότερα θύματα !

Στο ίδιο μήκος κύματος και ο αντιπρόεδρος των ΗΠΑ, έκανε λόγο για «βόμβα» και όχι απλώς για «έκρηξη», δηλώνοντας ότι, «προφανώς επρόκειτο για τρομοκρατική επίθεση. Δεν γνωρίζω τις λεπτομέρειες, όμως προσευχόμαστε για τους πολίτες της Βοστόνης ». Ο Πρόεδρος των ΗΠΑ Μπάρακ Ομπάμα πάντως απέφυγε να χρησιμοποιήσει στο διάγγελμα του τη λέξη τρομοκράτης ή τρομοκρατία, προφανώς για να μην ξυπνήσει μνήμες από την 11η Σεπτεμβρίου στους Αμερικανούς.

Οι ομοσπονδιακές αρχές έχουν κατατάξει την επίθεση στο μαραθώνιο της Βοστόνης στην κατηγορία της τρομοκρατικής επίθεσης, αλλά δεν είναι σαφές αν αυτή προέρχεται από το εσωτερικό των ΗΠΑ ή μεθοδεύτηκε από ξένους. Ομοσπονδιακός πράκτορας, δήλωσε στο CNN ότι οι έρευνες από τις εκρήξεις δεν έδειξαν C-4 ή άλλο υψηλής ποιότητας εκρηκτικό υλικό, γεγονός που υποδηλώνει ότι τα πακέτα που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν στην επίθεση ήταν αυτοσχέδιοι εκρηκτικοί μηχανισμοί.

Είναι σαφές πάντως πώς πρόκειται για οργανωμένο και συντονισμένο σχέδιο με στόχο να δολοφονηθούν όσο το δυνατόν περισσότεροι άνθρωποι. Κι αυτό προκύπτει τόσο από το σημείο στο οποίο τοποθετήθηκαν οι βόμβες όσο και από το γεγονός ότι πέραν των δύο που εξερράγησαν οι αρχές εντόπισαν και εξουδετέρωσαν ακόμη δύο εκρηκτικούς μηχανισμούς στην str Boulston. Αργότερα τη νύχτα η Wall Street Journal μετέδιδε πως οι εκρηκτικοί μηχανισμοί που βρέθηκαν και απενεργοποιήθηκαν ήταν συνολικά πέντε!

Εκτός από το FBI, δράση έχει αναλάβει και η υπηρεσία Εθνικής Ασφάλειας (NSA), με πρώτο τους μέλημα να τεθούν προσωρινοί περιορισμοί των πτήσεων στη Βοστόνη, με το αεροδρόμιο να ανοίγει τελικώς ξανά μετά από κάποιες ώρες. Προληπτικά εκκενώθηκε και το πανεπιστήμιο Χάρβαρντ ενώ αυστηρά είναι ακόμα και τώρα τα μέτρα της ασφαλείας σε όλους τους δημόσιους χώρους των μεγαλουπόλεων των Η.Π.Α. Την ίδια ώρα η αστυνομία απηύθυνε έκκληση στους πολίτες της Βοστόνης να παραμείνουν στα σπίτια τους.

Ανάμεσα στα προληπτικά μέτρα ήταν και το κλείσιμο του δικτύου κινητής τηλεφωνίας στην Βοστόνη ώστε να αποφευχθεί πιθανή ασύρματη πυροδότηση εκρηκτικών μηχανισμών. Επισήμως το δίκτυο επανήλθε περίπου μιάμιση ώρα μετά τα μεσάνυχτα (ώρα Ελλάδας).

Στο πλαίσιο των προληπτικών ελέγχων και ερευνών το FBI διέταξε να αυξηθεί ο έλεγχος και η φρούρηση δύο πυρηνικών σταθμών και συγκεκριμένα των εγκαταστάσεων Pilgrim σταθμού πυρηνικής ενέργειας στο Πλίμουθ της Μασαχουσέτης και του σταθμού Seabrook Station στο New Hampshire. Και οι δύο εγκαταστάσεις απέχουν περί τα 45 χιλιόμετρα από το κέντρο της Βοστόνης ...

Παράλληλα κλήθηκαν από την εφεδρεία (Reserves) τουλάχιστον 1.000 άνδρες της Πολιτοφυλακής για να ενισχύσουν τη φρούρηση πιθανών στόχων σε Νέα Υόρκη και Ουάσινγκτον.

Σύμφωνα με τα όσα μεταδίδουν αρκετές πηγές, μεταξύ των οποίων οι εφημερίδες New York Post και Boston News, Oι αρχές συνέλαβαν, περίπου δύο ώρες μετά τις εκρήξεις έναν 20χρονο ως ύποπτο για τις επιθέσεις! Σύμφωνα με το ρεπορτάζ, που πάντως μέχρι στιγμής δεν επιβεβαιώνεται ούτε από την τοπική αστυνομία της Βοστόνης, ούτε από το FBI, οι αρχές έχουν θέσει υπό φρούρηση, στο νοσοκομείο όπου βρίσκεται με βαριά εγκαύματα, έναν 20χρονο υπήκοο Σαουδικής Αραβίας, ο οποίος εκτιμάται ότι σχετίζεται με τα τραγικά γεγονότα.

Από την πλευρά του το ειδησεογραφικό δίκτυο CBS μεταδίδει πως ο νεαρός Σαουδάραβας «πιάστηκε» από κάμερες παρακολούθησης να βρίσκεται στο σημείο των αρχικών εκρήξεων και να «κινείται ύποπτα». Το κανάλι ρώτησε σχετικά τον Επικεφαλής της αστυνομίας της Βοστόνης (Boston Αστυνομικός Επίτροπος) Ed Davis, ο οποίος αρνήθηκε πως έχει προβεί σε κάποια σύλληψη, περιοριζόμενος να δηλώσει πως «ερευνώνται και ανακρίνονται ... διακριτικά, περί τα 28 άτομα που βρέθηκαν στην επίμαχη περιοχή ».

Οι αρχές έχουν συλλέξει όλο το υλικό από τις κάμερες ασφαλείας την περιοχής, ενώ το FBI επιχειρεί να καταγράψει τις τηλεφωνικές κλήσεις που έγιναν σε όλο το Copley Square κατά τη στιγμή των εκρήξεων, με στόχο να απομονώσει όσες θεωρούνται ύποπτες. Την ίδια στιγμή με ιδιαίτερη προσοχή συλλέγονται όλα τα θραύσματα από τις βόμβες που εξερράγησαν προκειμένου να αναζητήσουν την «υπογραφή» των κατασκευαστών και της τρομοκρατικής οργάνωσης.

Ο φωτογραφικός φακός τον «τσάκωσε» να αγναντεύει από ψηλά την θανατηφόρα… αιματηρή επίθεση, αλλά είναι ύποπτος ή απλά άκουσε το θόρυβο και βγήκε έξω… στην ταράτσα; Το γύρο του διαδικτύου μέσω twitter κάνει τις τελευταίες ώρες η φωτογραφία ντοκουμέντο που απεικονίζει έναν μυστηριώδη άντρα στην οροφή ενός κτηρίου και δημοσιεύεται από την Corriere della Sera.

Το FBI μελετούν βίντεο και φωτογραφίες δευτερόλεπτο προς δευτερόλεπτο από τον Μαραθώνιο της Βοστώνης αναζητώντας μήπως και καταφέρουν να εντοπίσουν ύποπτες κινήσεις και επιπλέον στοιχεία για τη διερεύνηση της… επίθεσης που σκόρπισε το θάνατο σε ένα 8χρονο αγοράκι και σε άλλους… και άφησε ανάπηρους 10 ανθρώπους και άλλους τόσους με τραύματα.

Η περιοχή των εκρήξεων έχει αποκλειστεί και διερευνάται εντατικά.

Κι ενώ το FBI δηλώνει πως ακόμα δεν έχουν γίνει συλλήψεις, όπως και η αστυνομία της Βοστώνης,το ειδησεογραφικό δίκτυο CBS από την άλλη πλευρά μεταδίδει πως υπό φρούρηση στο νοσοκομείο φέρεται να κρατείται με βαριά εγκαύματα, ένας 20χρονος υπήκοο Σαουδικής Αραβίας.

Σύμφωνα με το CBS ο νεαρός Σαουδάραβας "πιάστηκε" από κάμερες παρακολούθησης να βρίσκεται στο σημείο των αρχικών εκρήξεων και να “κινείτο ύποπτα”.
