Η Σακίρα Ιζαμπέλ Μεμπαράκ Ριπόλ γεννήθηκε στις 2 Φεβρουαρίου, 1977 στην Κολομβία και είναι τραγουδίστρια, συνθέτρια και στιχουργός. Έκανε την πρώτη της εμφάνιση στη μουσική σκηνή της Κολομβίας και της Λατινικής Αμερικής στις αρχές του 1990. Τα άλμπουμ "Whenever, Wherever", "Laundry Service", "Fijación Oral Vol.1" και "Oral Fixation Vol.2" πούλησαν εκατομμύρια αντίτυπα και το τραγούδι "Hips Don't Lie" έγινε το καλύτερο σε πωλήσεις τραγούδι του 21ου αιώνα.
Το 1995 ίδρυσε την οργάνωση "Pies Descalzos Foundation" δηλαδή "Ίδρυμα Ξυπόλητα Πόδια", μία Κολομβιανή φιλανθρωπική οργάνωση που παρέχει ειδικά σχολεία για φτωχά παιδιά σε όλη την Κολομβία.
Έχει στην κατοχή της βραβεία Γκράμι, Λάτιν Γκράμι, βραβεία Λάτιν Μπίλμπορντ και ήταν υποψήφια για Χρυσή Σφαίρα.
Είναι η Κολομβιανή καλλιτέχνης με τις υψηλότερες πωλήσεις όλων των εποχών, και η δεύτερη κατά σειρά πιο επιτυχημένη λατίνα τραγουδίστρια (μετά την Γκλόρια Έστεφαν).
Το τραγούδι "Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)" επιλέχτηκε ως ο ύμνος της Διοργάνωσης του Παγκόσμιου Κυπέλλου Ποδοσφαίρου το 2010.

On 22 November 1981, in the middle of their mammoth American tour, the Rolling Stones arrived in Chicago prior to playing 3 nights at the Rosemont Horizon. Long influenced by the Chicago blues, the band paid a visit to Buddy Guy's club the Checkerboard Lounge to see the legendary bluesman perform.http://store.eagle-rock.com/muddywaters It didn't take long before Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Ian Stewart were joining in on stage and later Buddy Guy and Lefty Dizz also played their part. It was a unique occasion that was fortunately captured on camera. Now, restored from the original footage and with sound mixed and mastered by Bob Clearmountain, this amazing blues night is being made available in an official release for the first time.
