 PARIS - Iris Van Herpen's Fall/Winter 2012-2013 collection took it to the next level and then some. These futuristic ensembles are something Lady Gaga would definitely wear if she wants to look like a couture fashion alien, in the complementary sense. The Dutch designer uses computer assistance in her design to create unique 3D effects, that obviously go the extra mile. She even worked with architect Philip Beesley to create what she calls "living sculptures" as well as experimental chemist Rachel Armstrong. Metallic leaves, tentacles overlapping, and bustiers flowing into bulbous forms were part of the distinct line.

Gay African Man Beaten, Burned Alive by Angry Mob (Extremely Graphic Video)

This is a person.

If it sounds like we’re being vague here (Africa is a big, big place), it’s because the details surrounding this video are hard to come by. One thing everyone agrees on however is that the victim in this video is gay. Several media outlets are claiming this nightmare went down in Uganda, but again, we’ve seen no evidence locking down a location or even a name for this poor man.

Real talk, this is the most graphic and shocking example of violence we’ve ever seen in our lives. This video is not for the faint of heart. Hell, it’s not even for most human beings. We honestly argued with one another here in the UB office over who had to cover it, because none of us could even stand to make it all the way through the video.

A gay man is beaten to a bloody pulp by an angry mob in this video, doused with some sort of flammable liquid, buried under a pile of wooden rubble, and then set ablaze. You will cry. You will want to throw up. You won’t make it through the video.

It’s graphic and disgusting and the saddest thing we’ve ever seen. But this man was reportedly one of us, and nobody even seems to know his name. How could a man be turned into his own funeral pyre by dozens of hateful attackers somewhere in our world without anybody even knowing where it all went down?

No matter who he was, or why he was subjected to this torture, this mystery absolutely must be solved. And those responsible must be brought to justice. And if it does in fact turn out that this killing occurred in a nation that criminalizes homosexuality and allows murder to go unpunished, then this harrowing result of that political and cultural climate must be shared with the world to shame that country into changing their ways.

***Update: Unable to speak Nigerian myself, I have no way of vetting what is being said in this video. Hell, I’m not even sure it’s Nigerian that’s being spoken. We posted this video because it was sent to us from three different sources that stated this was an attack on a gay man. Since sharing, we’ve faced criticism that this story isn’t relevant to the LGBT community because the man in the video may have been beaten to death and set on fire for being a thief, and not for being gay. How that in any way justifies burning him to death in front of a crowd is beyond me.

If you’re the type of person that is angry with me for reporting a man was burned to death, but thinks it’s OK because he wasn’t gay – then you’re not the type of person I care to cater to in any way at all and you can keep on moving right along with your shameful self. The world where people aren’t burned alive that you’re pretending to live in is really just that one click away. Peace.

PARIS - Disco's making a comeback? Yes, according to the Alexandre Vauthier collection during Paris Couture Fashion Week. Nowfashion.com said a front row attendee called the collection "Charlie's Angel meets Studio 54," which is exactly how you would describe these powerful but sexy girls in their V-cut minidresses (V for Vauthier?) and gold jumpsuits. White, gold and beige, when not cut into a V down front, were dominated by lopping gold necklaces, wrapped collars, and gold or crystal beading. This collection is definitely for the nightlife partiers out there, but you could also see it on a red carpet or two.

We are pleased to publish the interview gave us the Fr Peter Deschamps , who is vicar of the Orthodox Parish of the Holy Covert and St. George Besancon France, Metropolitan of Western and Southern Europe that belongs to the Romanian Orthodox Church, and translators of books Ven. Metropolitan Ierotheou, Mr. French.

What do you think is the most important points of Orthodox theology that differentiates theology from the West and is necessary in the modern world?
